Following the recent death of Professor Christie Davies, an esteemed and influential humour scholar, HUMOR: International Journal of Humor Research, is putting tougher a festschrift on Christie Davies as a tribute to his contribution to humour studies.
We invite proposals for papers that reflect on Christie's wide and extensive contributions to humour studies, including, but not limited to, ethnic jokes, comparative analyses of humour and its relation to society, taboo humour, jokes and their targets.
Papers may be for short reflective pieces (around 2,000 words) or for longer articles (around 7,000 words).
The timetable for the festschrift on Christie Davies is as follows:
End of April 2018: Submission of first drafts of papers
End of August 2018: Submission of revised versions of papers
Spring/Summer 2019: Publication in HUMOR
If you would like to be considered for inclusion in the festschrift on Christie Davies please send a 300-word abstract (including details of the proposed length of your contribution) and a short 100-word bio note by 27th November 2017.
